When negative press strikes, there’s no entity better than the Democratic National Committee at spinning the bad and making it seem good. The latest problem: Hillary’s health. Their response: “power through.”
You can see it in nearly every soundbite from those on the campaign trail in her absence:
- WaPo: “Clinton’s impulse to ‘power through’ with pneumonia set off cascade of problems”
- Valley News: “Clinton: I thought I could power through it”
- Seattle Times: “Clinton quietly powers through illness — it’s what women do”
- RealClearPolitics: “Tim Kaine: Clinton Is Going To “Power Through” Pneumonia, Like She Did With Coughing Fit On Labor Day”
More so than in print, their reaction on the television is clearly designed to pound the phrase into our collective conscience, as this video from Washington Free Beacon demonstrates:
The left relies on narrative-control in order to win elections. They’ve mastered the art over decades and the right has simply never been very adept at it. They need to get adept quickly; we are seeing it in the Presidential election but we will soon see it laid out as the left’s masterpiece as they try for the more important races: control of the Senate.
