Edmund Burke on the triumph of evil

Edmund Burke Triumph of Evil

This country has been tested time and time again by foes within and outside of our borders. For the most part, we have taken the right steps to protect us and the rest of the world from the evils that lurk.

Edmund Burke summed up the importance of action. There have been times when we’ve acted too quickly, participated when it wasn’t necessary, and engaged when our involvement was a detriment. The current state of affairs in the Middle East is a perfect example of this. However, we cannot grow so complacent or isolationist that we stand by and do nothing in the face of evil.

It’s a fine line. This is why it’s so important to have a steady hand and a righteous heart for those who are to lead us.

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”
