The moderate Republican Establishment has really started getting behind Donald Trump’s liberal perspectives. First, losing VP candidate Sarah Palin endorsed him. Now, losing Presidential candidate Bob Dole endorsed him. Will Mitt Romney be joining in soon?
As a conservative, I get insulted when others who claim to be a conservative support Trump’s affirmative action, touchback amnesty, and eminent domain perspectives. I don’t get annoyed when RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) like Dole throw their names behind Trump. Just as he opposed Ronald Reagan in 1980, Dole opposes the conservative principles of candidates like Ted Cruz. This can be expected. The losing ways of the Republican Establishment have always forced their puppets to make bad decisions and nominate the wrong person. It’s happening once again with Dole and Trump.
He is, after all, an “Establishment icon” as Ben Shapiro of the Daily Wire puts it:
Trump 2016: Because Sarah Palin And Bob Dole Both Say So! https://t.co/42fUFkc00F

To be fair, Donald Trump has done a lot of great things for the party. He has us centered back on the things that are important: national security, border security, and the economy. However, his rhetoric compares poorly with his actual proposed solutions. Trump’s touch back amnesty is actually worse than Marco Rubio’s standard amnesty because it will have the same effect while costing much more to accomplish.
Dole fought tooth and nail against Ronald Reagan’s campaign while supporting John McCain and Mitt Romney. His choice of Trump may end up being the kiss of death.
