Latest casualties in “the war on God”

Faith in America

As America, and the world, continue to plunge further into the darkness of the secular utopia that atheists, humanists, and those who generally hate God have been dreaming of, the “body count” of their victims continues to climb.

It is true that the persecution of Christians in the rest of the world is far worse than it is yet here at home, but that doesn’t mean Christians aren’t being targeted here as well.

Abroad, one of the underlying motives of ISIS’ desired domination of the Middle East and the west is the destruction of anything Christian. We have been seeing increasingly horrific ways ISIS, and other radical Islamic groups, have been enslaving, torturing, and murdering anyone who holds Christian views.

In Africa, radical Islamic groups like Boko Haram routinely kidnap, enslave, and murder Christians as part of their jihad. Hundreds of kidnapped young Christian women are still missing. (This, despite Michelle Obama’s hashtag urging their return.)

And, as predictable, neither the Obama Administration nor the UN has uttered even a peep of displeasure at the atrocities. As far as left-wing progressives go, basic human rights don’t apply to people who follow Jesus, apparently.

We have also been told that “Caligula-wannabe”, North Korea’s Kin Jong-un, has stepped up his persecution of anyone daring to worship a deity greater than himself. He is putting Christians to death in gruesome ways as well – crucifying them over fires and crushing them to death under steam rollers.

On top of that, any North Korean Christians who have managed to escape these horrors to China are being systematically returned to North Korea to fates of certain death – so much for the façade of the Chinese government becoming more enlightened and “westernized.”

But, persecution of Christians here in America is definitely on the rise as well; even if it is taking subtler forms. So far, it is still illegal to kill people in America if they are Christians (except for babies in the womb, of course). However, that is not to say that forces aren’t growing which want to move in that direction if they thought they could get away with the same type of “religious cleansing” many parts of the world are now experiencing.

No, in America the attacks are limited to legal and financial at the moment. We’ve all seen the growing number of businesses that have been targeted by the radical left (call it the “rainbow jihad” or the “gaystapo” if you wish). Cake bakers, florists, caterers, photographers, and tee shirt screeners have all been hauled into court by various private interest groups and out-of-control government agencies, hell-bent on their destruction.

We’ve seen a county clerk jailed for being true to her beliefs. (And yes, it was by a supposedly “conservative” Republican federal judge.)

Radical advocacy groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center demand that all Christian, pro-family organizations be categorized as “hate groups”; just like the KKK.

We also see the bigotry in the media on display. YouTube had banned the trailer to a Christian film – I Am Not Ashamed – telling the true story of a young girl who died for her Christian faith – the first victim of the heinous Columbine massacre that happened back in 1999. I guess the realistic message of the film of sincere Christian faith under fire was too penetrating for the merry secularists at YouTube to handle.

We have also just had a repeat martyr to the left’s jihad on God – Alabama’s Chief Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore. Moore was removed from office back in the early 2000’s for refusing to remove a display of the 10 Commandments from his court house. But, the voters in Alabama returned him to the office a few years later.

Now, since Moore has stood up to the dubious U.S. Supreme Court ruling which has made a mockery of the institution of marriage – Obergefell, he has been removed from office again by a liberal “star chamber” in Alabama for refusing to knuckle under to the wishes of 5 Harvard-educated, closet alcoholics on the high court.

America used to cheer paragons of virtue who stood against the flood-tide of tyranny. Now, guys like Moore are the new “Juden” in America. It used to be that freedom and individual rights were at the heart of what America was all about.

No more. Now, only secular, “politically correct” groupthink is allowed. We used to have strong nuclear families which provided America with a strong backbone to stand in face of real adversities. Now, we have 47 different “genders” and “safe spaces” on college campuses to turn tomorrow’s leaders into mindless slaves of “the machine.” We have men wearing women’s clothing allowed to abuse women in restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms. We have a military which has removed the word “man” from its official vocabulary.

The Christian Church used to be the vanguard of charity and morality – leading and strengthening the nation against all forms of evil. Now, most “Christian” leaders are confused or bullied into silence when it comes to speaking out about societal issues.

With Mafia-like tactics, the radical atheist left is waging its war on God right smack dab in the heart of “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Considering what we are seeing here today, can the horrors of the Middle East, Africa, and North Korea be far behind? Will it even take a generation for the American Church to be forced to swear “allegiance to Caesar” or be declared criminal by some pseudo-enlightened group of pagans?

Whether one is Christian or not, these events should be troubling. If fundamental Constitutional rights can be denied to one group in America, they can be denied to all. If American government has the power to “veto” God, then government becomes a god-pretender. No one’s rights are now safe.

Whether we are talking about tyranny coming from the left (as it is now), or from the right (as it has the potential to do), it is all still tyranny – the antithesis of American freedom.

If this world-wide “war on God” continues unabated, then every person on the planet will suffer irreparable harm. While espousing guaranteed rights, fascists of many different stripes will be destroying every last once of freedom left for humanity.

A denial on YouTube or a fine to a baker may seem like a small thing right now which doesn’t apply to most of us, but be assured that these are simply advance force skirmishes compared to the blitzkrieg to come from the radical left.

If we allow courageous jurists, like Judge Moore, to be removed from elected office simply to satisfy the wishes of a tiny, tiny minority, will there be any justice left in America’s legal system?

If Christian business owners can’t refuse to participate in sham ceremonies to fulfill deluded fantasies, then can any business be safe from government goons crashing down the doors for any trivial reason?

If college campuses are filled with “tender snowflakes” that can’t even hear dissenting opinions, can there be any Freedom of Speech left in America?

It ultimately comes down to the fundamental right of people all over the globe to worship as they please. In many dark places on the planet that means the freedom from fear of torture and death. In America, it means the right to live one’s life following one’s conscience without one lick of government interference.

But, if this “war on God” continues, George Orwell’s 1984 will become the “new normal” for billions.
